We do not charge extra for the classes. This allows all children to be included in the sessions.

Sidcup Day Nursery & Forest School offer as wide range of extra-curricular activities to engage the children. All our extra-curricular activities are provided by suitably qualified professionals who are fully compliant with our Safeguarding Children Policies. Some of our extra-curricular activities include; Dance, Multi Sports, Cooking and Food Sensory Education, Forest School / Nature exploration and Pilates for young children.

Dance

We have trained and certified practitioners in Music and Dance from Dance-Worx’s Ltd . She support the children in increased muscular strength, endurance and aerobic fitness. The Dance encourages better coordination, agility and flexibility. It’s always great to see how the children progress and improve in confidence and overall balance. They obviously love the feeling of moving to the tunes and enjoy the music and dance while learning life long skills such as creativity and Imagination; balance, control and coordination and cultivate communication skills. Dance develops listening and social skills in children and it gives them self-confidence and better prepares the children for school.

Cooking & Food Sensory Education

Encouraging children to be involved in the cooking process incorporates many aspects of the EYFS by allowing children to develop their communication and understanding, self esteem and understanding of mathematics along with creating new recipes and experimenting through science and developing valuable life skills. The children enjoy being in charge and having independence in some aspects of the cooking is always a pleasure.

Multi Sport

We have trained and certified practitioners in Sports from Youth Sport Development (YSD) . The activities vary from football, Hockey, Netball, Dodgeball, Basketball, Handball, Tri-Golf, Dance, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Tag Rugby, Cricket, Rounders, Tennis, Badminton. Some of the key benefits of physical play in early years include: Building healthy muscles and bones; Aids balance and overall co-ordination; Improves mental health and wellbeing; Boosts confidence and self-esteem and Supports cognitive development.

Sidcup Day Nursery usually undertakes a whole nursery outing once a year to a place of interest such as a farm, zoo, museum or adventure playground. This is always a fun and enjoyable experience for our nursery children, staff and parents

Woodland Farm Visit Photos

In addition we undertake regular local visits and outings with our nursery children to libraries, fire station, soft play, parks, local shops and amenities which offers them interesting learning experiences.
